PELAMIS

Pelamis is a progressive wave energy conversion device developed by a Scottish company.

The progressive devices are elongate systems having a longitudinal dimension of the order of wavelength magnitude and are arranged in the direction of wave propagation so as to generate a progressive pumping effect, associated with the passage of the wave, by the action of a flexible element in contact with water.

Pelamis consists basically of a semi-submerged articulated structure composed of different cylindrical modules that are joined by flexible joints.
ENP was responsible for design and manufacture of the habitat, the assemblage of the structures and the ballast as well as its placement in the water.
